Philly has a longstanding reputation for being festive during the holiday season — and it’s easy to see why.
During the holidays, we take part in many exciting traditions, but one of the most notable and exciting traditions is the annual Christmas Village in Love Park. Starting on Thanksgiving Day, Love Park transforms into a European Winter Wonderland — and yes — there will be treats.
More than 60 vendors set up shop in wooden booths and tents throughout Love Park until December 28. As visitors enter the illuminated Love Park, they’re greeted by sweet smells of lebkuchen (gingerbread), bratwurst and other traditional German and European foods. After enjoying the festival foods, you can search for the perfect holiday gift at Kathe Wohlfahrt’s massive tent.
The Christmas Village offers more than shopping and eating. Love Park will be a spectacle for the young and old as thousands of lights, along with a enormous Christmas tree, turn night into day. Local bands and dance groups will also be entertaining passersby, and here’s the best part: admission is free.
So if you’re looking for an excuse to get into the holiday spirit, give the Christmas Village a whirl. Before taking in the festivities at Christmas Village, you park at our newly built Family Courthouse Garage or our parking locator can lend you a helping hand. And don’t forget — if you plan on attending on a Wednesday night, we offer free meter parking after 5 p.m. in Center City!
